Design Public Hearing scheduled for Route 65 bridge over Big Branch in Scott County
Meeting to be held Wednesday, October 24 from 4 - 6 p.m. at LENOWISCO in Duffield

BRISTOL – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing this month to discuss the proposed replacement of the Route 65 bridge over Big Branch in Scott County.

The information meeting will be held Wednesday, October 23 from 4-6 p.m. at LENOWISCO Planning District Commission, 372 Technology Trail Lane, Duffield, Virginia 24244.

The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to meet with VDOT staff to discuss the proposed replacement of the bridge, which will require for three days during the project that traffic be controlled by flaggers 24-hours-a-day. Also, there will be a temporary traffic diversion in place adjacent to the bridge.

VDOT encourages all interested citizens to attend the information meeting. To give citizens more flexibility in their participation, there will be no formal presentation. Instead, citizens will be able to review information with VDOT representatives at their convenience anytime between 5p.m. and 7p.m.

Written and verbal comments will be accepted during the meeting, or may be submitted to VDOT by November 2. Mail comments to Mr. James Bullins, Project Manager, 870 Bonham Road, Bristol, Virginia 24201. Or, email comments to [email protected], referencing “Route 65 Bridge Public Hearing” in the email subject line.
