FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will share the results of a Route 301 corridor study focused on the Town of Port Royal at an upcoming community meeting. 

This study, called an Arterial Management Plan, can be used by local governments to develop ideas for future transportation projects. 

Join us to hear the results of the study and share feedback on potential future project ideas. A community meeting will be held:

Stop by anytime between 5-7 p.m. to view displays, provide feedback, and discuss questions with VDOT staff. 

Meeting materials will be posted to the project page on www.VirginiaDOT.org on Aug. 28. 

The Port Royal Arterial Management Plan is an extension of planning work begun as part of the Route 207/Route 301 corridor study VDOT completed for Caroline and King George counties in 2018. Additional study was required to develop future project ideas focused on Port Royal. 

Work on the Port Royal study began in fall 2018. Residents and travelers commented on existing Route 301 travel conditions at stakeholder and community meetings, and an online survey received 180 responses.

Comments received at the upcoming community meeting will be incorporated into the final study document.
