ROUTE 301 LANE CLOSURE NEAR NICE/MIDDLETON BRIDGE UNDERWAY IN KING GEORGE COUNTY
Southbound lane is closed near Roseland Road for approximately three months for the Nice/Middleton Bridge replacement project

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – A single southbound lane of Route 301 in King George County near Roseland Road will remain closed for approximately three months for construction activities related to the Nice/Middleton Bridge replacement project.

On Monday, Nov. 15, crews closed the right lane on southbound Route 301 in Virginia from Roseland Road to Barnsfield Road, which is a distance of 0.38 miles.

The Nice/Middleton Bridge connects Virginia and Charles County, Maryland. The existing two-lane bridge is being replaced with a new four-lane structure by the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA).

In coordination with MDTA, the long-term lane closure will help to expedite work associated with the bridge construction.

Access to all businesses near the work zone will be maintained.

Weather permitting, the southbound lane will reopen in late February 2022.
