Overnight Ramp Closures Next Week for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
Ramp closures planned at I-495, Route 123, Monument Drive and Route 29 Centreville

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges so that crews can perform various construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Monday, August 10
Ramp from Route 123 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed Monday night, August 10, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. for overhead utility work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, stay to the right, then turn right at the traffic signal onto the ramp from Route 123 North to I-66 West. One of the two turn lanes from northbound Route 123 to I-66 West will also be closed during this period.

Monday, August 10, through Wednesday, August 12
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 Centreville
The ramp will be closed nightly from Monday night, August 10, through Wednesday night, August 12, between midnight and 4 a.m. for paving operations. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 29.

Ramp from Route 29 Centreville to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed nightly from Monday night, August 10, through Wednesday night, August 12, between midnight and 4 a.m. for paving operations. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, to Route 286 North, stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.

Monday, August 10
Ramp from I-66 West to Monument Drive
The HOV ramp will be closed Monday night, August 10, from 10 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. for paving operations.

Thursday, August 13
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 South Express Lanes
The ramp will be closed Thursday night, August 13, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for utility work. Traffic will be directed to use the I-495 South general purpose lanes.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
